Meet the Team

  • Hello friend! I am so happy you are here! Let me share a glimpse into who I am: Over the last two decades I have been immersed in the education, social services, and mental health counseling landscape. Yet, amidst these experiences, I've sensed a crucial absence - a longing shared by many women: a haven where they can ask, explore, and embrace their true selves without fear of judgment.

Within my own story, you will find chapters of profound anxiety, deep depression, encounters with trauma, suffocating shame and the ache of loss. I believed that I could simply pray and positively think my struggles away. However, I soon realized that I needed more - I craved support, comfort, and a safe space to voice my questions, doubts, and fears.

As women, what we truly desire is empathetic understanding - a space to evolve, learn, and find solace in newfound wisdom. My deepest hope is that here, at The Mental Health Chick, you'll discover abundant grace, unwavering hope, and a profound sense of belonging, where you will become anchored in your purpose so you can lead and love fiercely!

  • Hey y’all! I’m thrilled to be on the leadership team here at the Mental Health Chick! I have worked in the community mental health field for more than a decade, gaining experience as a caseworker, behavioral clinician, and coach working with kiddos, families, and individuals. I am a wife and a mom with lots of experience in what my husband and I like to call ‘extreme parenting’ - aka raising a kiddo with complicated medical needs. I am currently finishing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and can provide consultation, training and speaking services.

Like Missy, my passion is helping others navigate everyday life with joy and purpose. The trials and tribulations that life brings are sometimes more than we can bear alone. As women, wives, mothers, even as helpers, it can be easy to get overwhelmed, overburdened, and burnt out. My desire is that when you visit the Mental Health Chick, you find hope, help, and the community of encouragement needed to walk boldly through life!

  • Greetings sister chicks! My name is Sally, and I am dedicated to guiding you towards achieving harmony in mind, body, and soul. With over 35 years of experience, I have supported individuals through various challenges such as addiction, domestic violence, anger management, and mental health struggles.

As a recovering alcoholic and addict with 46 years of sobriety, I understand firsthand the interconnectedness of these issues. My personal journey has been marked by mental, emotional, and financial hardships, as well as other traumas and health concerns. Through unwavering faith, the support of friends and family, I have overcome these obstacles.

I draw upon my own experiences to assist others in rewriting their stories, empowering them to reclaim control over their lives. Together, we will embark on a journey towards healing and transformation.

  • Hello, everyone! My name is Tamar Rose, and I am overjoyed at the opportunity to be a part of the Mental Health Chick team. A big part of my personal development and story are my years of studying child development and working with youth of all ages in a variety of roles. I have had experience teaching, mentoring, and coaching kids and teens as they navigate the challenging society they are growing up in. One role I have especially enjoyed is being the founder of a child-discipleship program named “Tribe”. My time spent creating Tribe has given me a passion for stewarding social media in a way that reaches those who need it most.

No matter our age, the world we live in can leave us feeling empty, confused, or overwhelmed in our hearts and minds. It is becoming less and less that children and women can find a safe space to belong, unload, and be equipped to reach their full potential. This is why I think the Mental Health Chick community is so important. It allows each individual involved to be authentic, and only when we’re our authentic selves can we find real growth.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to inspire, equip, and uplift women, helping them overcome self-limiting beliefs, untangle messy mindsets, and establish strong boundaries, enabling women to confidently embrace their purpose and walk it out with grace at home, work, and in the community.

Our ultimate vision is to witness a community of strong, purpose-driven women who inspire and support one another in their journeys. We envision women breaking free from the shackles of doubt, stepping into their divine purpose with confidence, and leaving a lasting impact on their families and communities.

Through our coaching, we aspire to embolden women, teams and organizations to live out their callings, radiating purpose in all they do, all while cherishing their mental health as a cornerstone of their journey.

Living out your purpose and using your gifts and talents to lead and serve requires vulnerability. As Brené Brown says, “If you don't understand vulnerability, you cannot manage and lead people. If you're not showing up vulnerably as a leader, you can't expect anyone to follow you—period.”

Brené has also famously said, “Vulnerability is terrifying and it's dangerous and scary, and the only guarantee I can give you is it's not as terrifying or as dangerous or scary as getting to the end of our lives and having to ask ourselves, what if I would have shown up?”

We can’t wait to watch the growth and joy that you experience on your journey when you finally feel free, empowered and confident enough to show up. It’s going to be so worth it!

Values

Mental Health

We believe that mental health is as important as physical and spiritual health. It encompasses a sense of well-being and hope while being able to thrive in the face of the daily stresses and challenges you face.

Grace

We believe that grace is a gift that can't be earned. It's a gift we give ourselves and others when we recognize that we are not perfect. Everyone is to be loved just as they are.

Self-Compassion

We believe that self-compassion is the practice of being kind and gentle with yourself, holding an attitude of mercy and understanding towards yourself, while recognizing that challenging circumstances and making mistakes are part of being human.

Purpose

We believe that every person has unique gifts and talents that fulfill a need a purpose while here on earth. We are meant to use our gifts and walk in our purpose to the extent that it blesses others.

Community

We believe in the power of personal connection and belonging. Within communities, people can share ideas and inspire one another to grow more than they ever thought possible.

Trauma Informed

We believe in creating safe spaces—spaces where it's ok to be human. Looking at ourselves and others through a trauma informed lens is a way of life for us. It's the way we show up for our clients and ourselves every single day.
